WFMA’s mission is to provide support and advice for local migrants, asylum seekers and refugees in Waltham Forest. We also advocate and campaign for the rights of migrants and refugees in the UK.
This role is to oversee the HR and administration aspects of our activities, which are run by our part-time Support Centre Manager, our part-time Communications and Campaigns Manager and our part-time immigration advisor.
This is an exciting time for the charity as we have received funding to expand our services at the drop-in Support Centre and are also actively fundraising to expand our other key area: provision of in-house immigration advice and casework.
This is a new post and the appointee will need to work with staff and trustees to develop the role and define further responsibilities. This will mainly be to ensure key functions happen such as training, salary and performance reviews. Staff members also have a trustee they work closely with, so the general manager would liaise with them.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to fashion a vital role as part of a great team as WFMA grows and expands its service delivery and care of its staff and volunteers.
The post will be:
• 15 hours per week (hybrid, but with some agreed in-person hours at the drop-in Support Centre);
• Duration: 12 months (with a realistic prospect of continuing for a further 3-4 years in the first instance, funding permitted);
• Salary: £36,400 pro rata (£13,332 per annum).
